Back Assessments

Back assessments can be performed in many ways.  We provide our clients with a variety of choices when evaluating a candidate’s capabilities.  A dynamic lift station can test the actual lifting of weight from one height to another.  Carrying weight over a distance is another way to assess one’s ability.  Other approaches we offer is a computer based unit that digitally measures spine range of motion.  It also measures the strength of isolated muscles or muscle groups, and it records a NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) Lift Test.  We compare the candidates results to a national data base and make recommendations.  The protocols followed are from the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment and therefore stand up in medical legal arenas.  Furthermore, we offer spinal assessments that include palpation, orthopedic and neurologic testing.  A combination of the above is usually what our clients choose.
