Racing Victoria have announced race dates for the 2024-2025 racing season, with the VRC set to host 21 premium race meetings at Flemington from 1 August 2024 – 31 July 2025, including 10 Group 1 race days and 14 Group 1 races.
The VRC’s internationally renowned event, the four-day Melbourne Cup Carnival will be run in November and commences with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on Saturday 2 November. It continues with Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 5 November, VRC Oaks Day on Thursday 7 November and TAB Champions Stakes Day on Saturday 9 November.

The 2024/25 racing season kicks off in style with the VRC Season Premiere Race Day on Saturday 3 August where Melbourne Cup Carnival hopefuls begin their quest for glory in the Spring features. It is the perfect start to a spectacular season at Flemington!
Traditional public holiday meetings will continue to be run at Flemington with New Year’s Day Race Day on 1 January and ANZAC Day Race Day on 25 April.
The Lexus Melbourne Cup Day remains the jewel in the crown of Australian racing and the Flemington racing calendar continues to be full of both tradition and innovation.
VRC Chairman Neil Wilson said the new-season race dates give VRC members and racing fans something to plan and look forward to, including 14 Group 1 races.
“The VRC will host 21 race meetings at Flemington next season with a focus on world-class racing, hospitality and entertainment,” Mr Wilson said.
“The 2024-2025 Flemington race day schedule offers members access to the four biggest days on the Australian racing calendar and 17 other premium race meetings, with a total of 10 Group 1 race days in the season."
With four race days to run in the 2023-24 season we look forward to welcoming members and their guests to the four remaining race days at Flemington to enjoy the best of what Winter racing has to offer.
