I enjoyed my food. But if someone schedules for food to be delivered by 4:15pm, it should be here by 4:15pm -- not at 5pm. I called them twice, and the lady said the delivery driver left (which is EVERYONE'S excuse when a customer is waiting for their food). The second time I called, she said she was going to call the driver to see where he is, and she was going to call me back -- she never called me back. I was in the middle of canceling my order until the driver showed up. So, they got lucky. But not lucky enough for me to leave this rating. Sorry not sorry.

FAQs

Do Chinese restaurants appreciate tips? ›

Tipping in bars and restaurants is not expected in China, unlike in most countries in Europe and in the United States. The general rule is the service should be exceptional at all times, and with no expectation of extra pay. Tipping in China can be considered rude and frowned upon.

Which Chinese restaurant weighs customers? ›

A restaurant in central China has apologised for encouraging diners to weigh themselves and then order food accordingly. The policy was introduced after a national campaign against food waste was launched. The beef restaurant in the city of Changsha placed two large scales at its entrance this week.

How can I be respectful in a Chinese restaurant? ›

Some dining aspects such as seating arrangements, serving others first, and waiting for the host is based on hierarchy and respect. Additional dining etiquette rules in China include avoiding sticking your chopsticks upright in a bowl of rice and avoiding sensitive topics during dinner talk.

How much tip to leave in a Chinese restaurant? ›

If your restaurant does not include a service fee, you must assume that servers are receiving lower wages hourly and tipping needs to make up the difference. These days 18% is a bare minimum, 20-22% is standard, and a great experience should be around 24-25% or even more if you are in a generous mood.

Should I leave a tip for Chinese takeout? ›

Charny says you should aim to tip 5% to 10% for takeout. When you dine at a sit-down restaurant, you should tip 18% to 20% of the bill on average. But when it comes to takeout, Charny says you don't necessarily have to give the full 20% you would tip on a meal eaten inside the restaurant.

Should you leave food on your plate in China? ›

What is a good tip for Chinese delivery? ›

If everything goes smoothly with your delivery and the weather is good, 20% is the standard cost of having the mealtime brought to your doorstep. Never tip less than five bucks, though.

What is Chinese restaurant etiquette? ›

The formal and unspoken rules of Chinese etiquette aren't very different from any other dining experience. You treat the food, occasion, and other guests politely and with dignity. Praising your host and thanking them are all welcome gestures, too. Remember that it is a shared meal and a gift to you as their guest.

What is the business etiquette for Chinese table manners? ›

Please wait for your host to start eating before you begin to do so, and never take the last piece of any dish, instead showing honour by offering it to others. It is considered good manners to serve others before serving yourself and to try everything you are done without showing displeasure.
