Chuck Johnson
Owner, Funeral Director, and Embalmer
Chuck is a lifelong resident of Cobb County. His parents are Jesse (1919-2008) and Betty Ridings Johnson (1928-2020). He has 2 Sisters, Gwen Sutton, of Marietta, and the late Debbie Gassett, of Kennesaw. His Grandfather (Troy F. Ridings) and great-great grandparents (George Ridings and Mariner Anderson) and their families lived in Acworth and are buried at Hickory Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. His Grandmother (Lucille Ballew Ridings) her family and Great Grandparents (Rev. Charlie and Belle Dobbs Ballew) raised their 11 children on a farm at Highway 5 (Canton Highway) and Blackwell Road. Many of those family members are buried at the Noonday Baptist Church Cemetery.
At age 14, Chuck entered the funeral and ambulance service. In 1981 He founded Johnson Ambulance Service and operated it until 1999 then sold it due to the Ambulance business and funeral business both being a 24 hour service. He was CEO of Hay-Gantt Funeral Home located on Roswell Street in Marietta from 1952 until 2004. He purchased the Collins Funeral Home from Hartley Gray in May 2000. Due to the changes in the area and the need for more room and convenience for families, he merged Hay-Gantt into the newly renovated Collins facility. Chuck opened Marietta Funeral Home in November of 2010.
He is a graduate of Sprayberry High School and attended Blackwell Elementary and J.J. Daniell Middle School as well as the Marietta Vo-Tech (1975) and the Gupton-Jones Mortuary College in Atlanta. He was licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician-A/Paramedic in 1976. He is a Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer and is still very actively practices in the funeral business today. He served as an Embalmer for Emory University Anatomical Studies in Atlanta. He is also a Certified Crematory Operator.
Chuck is a Master Mason and a member of Acworth Lodge #176, Acworth; A 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Atlanta; A member of the Yaarab Temple Shrine and the Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club; Past-President of the Kennworth Golden K, Kiwanis Club; and a member of the Academy of Graduate Embalmers. He is a member of Piedmont Church. He is also is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Marietta Campmeeting, Inc. in Marietta. He enjoys owning a cabin at the Marietta Campground where he has provided the Music and Sound Equipment for Campmeetings since 1982. He is married to Cindy Mabry Johnson who's grandfather Rev. Harley Mabry preached at the Campmeetings in the 40-50's. They have 2 adult children, Garrett Strunk and Ali Daly (and her husband JD Daly), who graduated from Lassiter High School in Marietta. Chuck and Cindy have 4 grandchildren who are the light of their lives. Chuck plans to retire at an old age and keep the funeral homes in the family. His son in law JD and daughter Ali have been working at the funeral homes since their college graduation and plan on continuing the family business.
Cindy Mabry Johnson
Vice President
Cindy is a native and lifelong resident of Marietta. She attended Mountain View, Kincaid, and Dodgen schools and graduated from Sprayberry High School. She is married to Chuck Johnson and has two children, Ali (married to JD) and Garrett. Her children are 2009 and 2011 graduates of Lassiter High School. Ali graduated from the University of Georgia in 2013 and now works at the funeral homes. Garrett graduated from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro and works for Georgia Power. Cindy and Chuck have 4 grandchildren. Her parents are Billy and Barbara Mabry of Marietta. She has one brother, Barry Mabry of Marietta. Both her father and her brother are also graduates of Sprayberry High School. Her grandparents, Rev. Harley and Gustie Mabry, raised her father and his seven siblings on Shallowford Road in Marietta. Her mother's family members are natives of Jasper, GA. Cindy worked for First National Bank of Cobb County for many years before starting to work for Johnson Ambulance Service and Hay-Gantt Funeral Home. She holds her insurance license and is the pre-need director for the funeral homes. She is also a Certified Crematory Operator. Cindy has served as Secretary for Marietta Campmeeting, Inc and attends Piedmont Church where she enjoys serving in the nursery.
JD Daly
Operations Manager, Funeral Director, and Embalmer
JD was born in Greensboro, North Carolina to parents Jacqueline Daly and Jay Daly. JD moved to Marietta in 2002 where he attended Simpson Middle School and Lassiter High School. JD met his wife, Ali, at Simpson Middle School and shortly after, he began working at the funeral homes during his summers off from school. JD went on to attend the University of Georgia where he got a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. After graduation, JD and Ali decided to join the family business. They got married in September of 2013 and they now live in Woodstock with their 4 young children. JD attended Jefferson State University where he received his degree in Funeral Service in December of 2016. He has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since January of 2017. He also holds his life insurance license and is a certified crematory operator. He has previously been president of Marietta Campmeeting, Inc. and held various other roles there. JD is an Elder at Piedmont Church in Marietta where he is active in serving in the student ministry, foster care ministry, and mens ministries.
Ali Daly
Marketing Director
Ali was born and raised in Marietta and attended Lassiter High School. She grew up around the family business and has been around the funeral industry from a young age. She graduated in 2009 and went on to get her Degree in Marketing from the University of Georgia in 2013. She married her middle school sweetheart, JD, in 2013 as well and they currently live in Woodstock with their 4 young children. She has worked at the funeral homes alongside JD since they graduated from college. Her primary role now that she is home part time with their children is handling marketing and communications. Ali volunteers at Piedmont Church with the middle school students as well as in the foster care ministry there. She is also the head of the publicity committee at Marietta Campmeeting.
Jay Stroud
Managing Funeral Director and Embalmer
Jay was born in Columbus, Georgia to Jack and Diane Stroud. Soon after graduating from Shaw High School he began his career in the funeral business 35 years ago at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, Georgia. After graduating from Gupton-Jones Mortuary School in 1992 he worked for three years in Winston-Salem, N.C. He returned to Georgia in 1995 to be closer to his family. He considers it an honor to help families in their time of need. Jay manages our Hiram location. When he is not working he enjoys spending time with his wife, Terri Stroud who has been employed with Pinnacle Orthopaedics in Marietta for the last 20 years, their children, Malorie, Cory and Olivia and two precious grandchildren, Josie and Josh.

Marc Turner
Family Services Director
Marc Turner is a native of Marietta, GA and a 1982 graduate of Sprayberry High School. Marc married his lifelong friend, Amy Davenport Turner in 1986. He worked in the commercial printing business for 24 years and has worked for Collins and Marietta Funeral Homes since 2010. Marc and Amy lived in Canton, GA for 30 years and returned to Marietta where they both were born and raised. Marc is a lifelong member of Mt. Arbor Baptist Church and has served in many positions. He currently serves as Chairman of Deacons. He enjoys working in his church, fishing, hunting, and camping.
Amy Turner

Amy Davenport Turner is a native of Marietta, GA. Amy is the wife of Marc Turner her lifelong friend who she married in 1986. Marc and Amy lived in Canton, GA for 30 years and returned to Marietta where they both were born and raised. She is a 1984 graduate of Sprayberry High School. She attended Blackwell Elementary, J.J. Daniel Middle School and Marietta Vo-Tech. Amy work 12 years with the state office of The American Lung Association of Georgia, as Office Manager/Human Resource Contact/Administrative Assistant to the CEO and CFO. She has also, worked in the home health care field for a number of years after leaving the Lung Association. She is a lifelong member of Mt. Arbor Baptist Church where she has served in many positions, including 12 years as AWANA Director for the children’s program. She currently serves as a Sunday School teacher. She enjoys working in her church, singing, gardening and serving others.

Dr. Richard Holden has been Married to his wife Terry for 46 years and they have been blessed with 2 children and 2 grandchildren. He was a pastor in the community for 51 years and he is currently serving as the Associate Pastor of East Cobb Baptist Church.
Hoyt Yother
Funeral Service Professional
Hoyt was born in Tate Georgia (Pickens County) to Sam Yother and Alma Gertrude Adams Yother. He graduated from Cherokee High School in 1958. In 1963, he got married to the late Sue Cox and they were happily married for over 50 years. Hoyt and Sue moved to Marietta in 1965 when he began working at Lockheed Georgia Company (now Lockheed Martin). Hoyt worked for Lockheed for 32 years and then retired in 2002. Hoyt has been working in the funeral business for nearly 15 years. He is a member of First Baptist Woodstock where he serves as an usher.
